G-Pharm Ltd is a small pharmaceutical company based near Sittingbourne involved in the research and development of novel medicines. This process requires the manufacture and supply of materials to countries all over the world for investigation. Due to the expansion of these research activities an opportunity has become available for a Materials Coordinator to join our team. Reporting to the Materials Manager the Materials Coordinator will be an active and integral member of our busy Supply Chain department.

The primary purpose of the role is to manage the link between the demand for research materials and the supply from the teams responsible for generating the materials and then the onward distribution. 

The successful candidate will come from a manufacturing / materials planning / export shipping environment and will possess the ability to work under pressure, take full responsibility for their tasks and create robust plans to support the increasingly complex requirements of the business.

It is essential that the candidate has an excellent working knowledge of excel spreadsheet design and functionalities such as pivot tables and macros. These skills will enable the person to use current systems and create new approaches of their own to ensure that all demands are met.

The role offers a varied and interesting workload within a growing company and will include the following:-

• Supply Chain contact for all clinical group research applications
  
• Materials management and allocation for company research
  
• Home Office and International Authority liaison
  
• Company international shipment licensing
  
• Maintenance and tracking of material inventory and systems development
  
• Domestic and international logistics for company research
  
• Research shipment documentation administration
  
• Material preparation and shipping
  
• Management and statistical report creation and generation
  

In addition to the above, the role will offer the ability to learn about different aspects of the Supply Chain operation in the company and for the successful candidate, the opportunity to take on additional responsibilities when the opportunities arise.

Person Spec:

• Experience (2+ years) in a supply chain environment. E.g. Supply Chain / Planning / Buying / Shipping departments
  
• Exceptional attention to detail
  
• Strong user of spreadsheets for analysis and reporting
  
• Ability to work with minimum supervision and take initiative
  
• Can work individually and also part of a team
  
• Potential to develop and take on greater responsibility as the company grows
