KSP Internet Access is only available to tenants of Kent Science Park. This unique service is based on a resilient fibre network to London which provides direct access to some of the world's largest Internet backbones. The service is delivered via the KSP private fibre network and all subscribers are provided with a Fast Ethernet port configured for their service.
Bandwidth
The service comprises ADSL, SDSL and Dedicated bandwidth options up to 1Gbps. Unlike BT Broadband, it is not limited by the distance from the nearest BT exchange. This means that bandwidth options can be provided which simply cannot be supplied by BT or other service providers.
Service Levels
Unlike BT Broadband services, KSP Internet Access does not rely on BT's legacy telephone network. Because the service is based on carrier-grade fibre optic private circuits, it is inherently more reliable than BT broadband services and backed by stringent service level agreements. Consequently KSP provides a Service Level Guarantee (SLG) for all its ADSL services to match BT's Network Premium service. Dedicated services are all provided with a service level agreement equivalent to a leased line.
Usage
When Broadband is used for business, download totals can reach surprising levels. KSP Internet Access has no usage limits. That means any number of files can be transferred, or days can be spent browsing online without worrying about being charged for excess usage.
Security
KSP ADSL services are secured behind a powerful central hardware firewall which means that you don't need to buy one. In addition, NAT (Network Address Translation) is implemented to hide your network from the outside world. A NAT router is installed and configured by an engineer within the connection charge.
IP addresses
Static IP addresses to support remote access, VPN, etc, are available on request at no extra charge. When a service supporting IP routing is provided, it is no longer protected by the central firewall, and therefore installation of a local firewall is recommended.
Service Upgrades
Service upgrades between the various ADSL, SDSL and Dedicated services can usually be implemented within 24 hours.

Professional technical support for KSP Internet Access is included with the service. Fast response service is delivered by a team of qualified IT support engineers based on-site.
Pricing
KSP Internet Access is a premium service focused on quality of service and high levels of availability. Despite the enhanced service it does not attract a Premium price. In most cases it is more competitive than similar or equivalent BT services.
